Start-ups Showcase at Eitri Pitch Fest

Promising healthtech startups were on hand for the Eitri Pitch Fest 2023. Guests and investors were in attendance for the event held at Eitri Medical Incubator.

Eitri Medical Incubator was the scene where 16 startups and innovation projects showcased their novel solutions. As part of the incubator program, these groups represent a new generation of firms aiming to create ground-breaking, “evidence-based solutions” to contribute to improved health care and overall quality of life.

Healthtech is one of the more recent industries to emerge in Greater Bergen. Key factors for this have included Norway’s highly developed digital infrastructure and its populace’s high digital literacy.

Eitri’s Director Torleif Markussen Lunde opened the pitch fest, where he highlighted the incubator’s growth. This growth includes more than 10 startups that have received support and a network of over 50 investors.

Eitri Medical Incubator, located at the Haukeland University Hospital, was co-founded by the University of Bergen and the University Hospital of Bergen last year. Run in collaboration with the Vestlandets Innovasjonsselskap (VIS), it offers an “entrepreneurial ecosystem” for inventors, investors and startups to collaborate and develop high-value solutions.

Dynamon wins best pitch

Dynamon was awarded the Gullinburtsi (Golden Bristles) award for best pitch. The Bergen-based startup developed a digital solution for coordinating and optimising shift rotations for medical staff. Dynamon General Manager Hilde Ulvik Hordnes was on hand to accept the award.

Other startups showcased at the pitch fest include Retrams (specialising in automated surgical equipment tracking and sorting), Caneat (an app for people with dietary restrictions) and Oculaudio (a smart hearing aid integrated into eyeglasses).
