Selling data centres in London

The data centre industry is growing fast, and it is expected that several new data centres will be established during the next years. Greater Bergen has a huge surplus of hydropower and attractive energy prices. Thursday 18 January we promote our data centre locations in London.

Thursday there is a reception in the Norwegian Embassy in London to promote and look for investors to the new fibre cable between Rogaland and Newcastle and to tell British companies about the possibilities for locating their data centres in Western Norway.

Here are the data centre locations and sites in Greater Bergen.

Connecting NO-UK

The connectivity to the rest of the world is crucial for data centres therefore it is so important to get the new direct fibre connection from Western Norway to UK that is under realisation, the NO-UK Com, fibre cable.

– Bergen is just a two hours flight from London. The region offers renewable energy from hydropower, redundant data transport with good latency and commercial areas ready for your data centre. Here you will find both brownfield for building your data centre and suitable existing buildings suitable for data centres. Recent changes in the Norwegian Tax Act has now opened up for data centre establishments. We think the timing is perfect for launching our data centre alternatives now, says Vidar Totland in Invest in Bergen.

Green and clean hydropower

BKK is the biggest power company in the region, and one of the largest hydropower producers in Norway. Invest in Bergen is collaborating with BKK to offer the best solutions for datacentres. The west coast of Norway has surplus of low cost power based on green renewable hydropower and is therefore ideal for energy-intensive industry.

– We are looking forward to meet investors and British companies this week, and we are looking forward to develop new sites for data centres in 2018 and 2019. We think Greater Bergen has great possibilities for developing this new industry, says Tone Hartvedt in Invest in Bergen.
