Pop star gets inspiration from Bergen

Does Bergen make you happy? If so, you’re not the only one. Dance music star Kygo has just released a new music video that celebrates Bergen and its surroundings.

The track, which was released two days ago (1 December), is called “Happy Now” and already has nearly 300,000 views on Youtube.

It contains scenes from Bryggen, the top of mount Ulriken, as well as nearby countryside including the majestic Vøringfossen waterfall.

Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, better known as Kygo, has received worldwide praise for his dance anthems.

The DJ and songwriter explains on Facebook that his newest single is a celebration of the place he grew up.

“Friends and family are what inspire me,” he said. “I really wanted to make a video filmed in my hometown and around Norway showing where I find my inspiration!”

The musician has clocked up over 2.5 billion views on Soundcloud and Youtube, and has performed at shows across the globe.

Yet based on his latest music video, the city of the seven mountains still holds a special place in his heart.
