Eitri Medical Incubator opens in Bergen

The Eitri Medical Incubator was officially opened in Bergen earlier this week. This medical innovation cluster will serve as an ecosystem for start-ups, entrepreneurs, researchers, healthcare professionals, investors, and students.

The Eitri Medical Incubator aims to cultivate innovation, knowledge-sharing, collaboration and network building, in order to drive advances in healthcare.

The Eitri Medical Incubator is a collaborative endeavour involving the Vestlandets Innovasjonselskap AS (VIS), the University of Bergen and Helse Bergen HF, which took five years to complete.

In attendance was Margareth Hagen, Pro-Rector for the University of Bergen. In her congratulatory address, she said “Let Eitri be the bridge we need between research and innovation, between academia and business. I believe we can make this happen”.

Located at the base of Ulriken, one of Bergen’s well-known mountains, this state-of-the-art facility comes equipped with a variety of labs, workshops and over 100 desks for innovators to work from.
