Catch us at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum!

The world’s largest seafood business conference will be coming to Bergen next month, and of course Invest in Bergen will be attending. We hope to meet you there.

The 15th North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) is taking place from 3-5 March, and includes a line‑up of 150 speakers.

The conference offers a chance to hear from politicians, industry leaders and financiers about the direction that the marine sector is heading.

The event will take place in Greater Bergen, which is one of the world’s top locations for establishing a seafood company.

Home to the complete supply chain, as well as research institutions and public support, it’s easy to see why many seafood firms choose to settle in our region.

Greater Bergen’s blue ecosystem

Did you know that Greater Bergen is home to two of the world’s leading salmon producers – Mowi and Lerøy?

These two companies produce more than half a million tonnes of salmon each year, and include over 15,000 employees.

The city region is also home to a range of other, smaller players. The NCE Seafood Innovation business cluster comprises more than 60 members, many of whom are tech startups. This innovative environment is working on making fish farming greener and smarter.

Lastly, we couldn’t avoid mentioning prestigious names in the field of research, such as the University of Bergen or the Institute of Marine Research (IMR).

The IMR is one of the biggest marine research institutes in Europe. With 1000 employees, the institution is a world-leading authority on life in our oceans.
